Getting ready for Christmas!
12/05/2007 22:45
Sorry the blog from Thanksgiving just got posted
(previous entry dated 11/28). We have a new version
of our web page publishing software, and it's kinda
buggy yet.
Katie is the big 7 months old now. Still no teeth, and still not crawling. But she continues to be a happy baby. She's on antibiotics - again - because she has had congestion in her nose that just won't go away (I guess if there is an upside to this, it's that Skip has become quite adept at using the snot sucker). So far so good - it's a different medicine this time, so she seems to be adapting a little bit better.
Katie has adapted well to her new "classroom" at day care. I sat in there for a while the other day - I was there to pick Katie up, and it was feeding time, so rather than deal with a fussy Katie all the way home and on errands, I sat and fed her and watched the other babies. And so did Katie - she's easily distracted! But she loves watching other little kids - one little boy in her new room is quite the walker & crawler, and she thought that was pretty funny. Katie's little "friends" Sonia & Eva (I call 'em the May Girls, because Eva was born 5/1 and Sonia 5/4) are in there with her, and all three are pretty easy going babies.
We are more or less ready for Christmas - the house is decorated, anyway, and we have Christmas gifts for most everyone. We got a stocking yesterday for Katie, so she's set on that front ... she still doesn't have a big "Santa present", but we think she might be getting a rocking horse from Santa. We'll see. Grandpa keeps threatening to get her a puppy ...
This weekend we're off to Austin to see Grandma Betty Jo & Jim & the aunties and uncles and cousins down there. Next weekend Skip is off to a solo ski trip - he has a lot of vacation to burn and natch, I have zippo, zilch, none (funny how maternity leave'll do that to ya). So Katie and I will be flying solo for over a week, as Skip is actually going from Colorado to Nebraska to help DiAnn and Angie with the long drive down here. If all goes well, Skip and all of the non-Texas grandparents should be showing up sometime on Saturday before Christmas ... I hope I've got everything done by then!!
